Sasref Celebrates the 2009 Business Achievements

On 13^th December 2009, Saudi Aramco Shell Refinery Co. (SASREF) held its annual party in its beach camp at Jubail to celebrate its major achievements and accomplishments for the year 2009, and recognize 98 employees and best performers of the emergency teams.

The celebration was organized under the patronage of SASREF Board Chairman Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Wuhib, and was attended by SASREF board of directors from Saudi Aramco and Shell and SASREF management and more than 300 Sasref staff and their children.

The Company President, Mr. Abdulhakim Al-Gouhi delivered a speech in which he welcomed all audience for joining Sasref in this special gathering. He highlighted the major achievements that Sasref teams accomplished during the year 2009 in all business areas, including Operations, Maintenance, business improvement, business growth, new projects and safety.

Al-Gouhi assured that the year 2009 was in general a good year for Sasref on various business fronts. In safety, the company achieved a new safety record by completing 30 million man-hours without a Lost Time Injury.

In terms of plant operation and reliability assurance, the company completed 558 days of continuous operation of the Hydrocrcker Unit. Successfully completed the plant shutdown works on the Hydrocracker and Hydrogen Manufacturing Unit, and High Vacuum Unit.

On the major projects front, the Instrumentation Master Plan project has been successfully completed and the upgrade to state of the art Central Control Room is also complete.

Al-Gouhi, expressed his thanks and appreciation to all Sasref staff and contractors for their contribution to such a successful year and best performances. 

Then Sasref Chairman Abdulrahman Al-Wuhaib and Al-Gouhi handed the long service awards to employees who completed 25and 20 years with Sasref, and the appreciation awards to the best performers in the emergency teams in SASREF.
